She has been in private practice for over 30 years. Dr. Weaver has also been on the Medical Staff (Allied Health) at a number of facilities including: Psychiatric Institute of Richmond; Health South Rehabilitation Center; and Capital Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Weaver has also held allied faculty positions at a number of colleges and universities where she taught undergraduate and graduate students. She has presented a number of workshops to various agencies at local and state levels.
Approach to treatment:
Dr. Weaver takes a personalized approach. She realizes that every patient is different. She makes it her priority to give each and every patient the individual attention they need. Dr. Weaver strives to understand your needs and goals, and to develop a treatment program (with the patient's input) to address your needs. Treatment is an evolving process that requires flexibility in approaches as the patient's needs and goals change.
Dr. Weaver realizes it can feel frightening and overwhelming to begin therapy (especially if is your first time). So, the first session is devoted to making you feel comfortable, getting to know each other, and helping her understand your situation. You will then gradually begin talking about the difficulties you are having and the reasons you have sought therapy. Dr. Weaver realizes that it is not always easy to discuss personal thoughts and feelings to someone you don't know well, but you can rest assured that everything is strictly confidential, and she is only here to help you.

Dr. Weaver has expertise in a number of clinical areas such as depression, anxiety, grief, trauma
and abuse, adjustment issues, relationship issues, grief and loss, among others. Dr. Weaver chooses treatment approaches to fit each patient's specific issues. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic techniques, hypnosis, etc. She has worked with individuals of all ages and lifestyles (LGBTQ+).
Forensic:
Dr. Weaver also has expertise in several areas regarding the legal system. Her forensic expertise and training are in the areas of child custody evaluations, shared parenting time, high conflict parenting, and collaborative divorce. Her services have involved treatment and diagnostic evaluations (court appointed or private), in civil and criminal cases. Dr. Weaver has provided expert testimony in Civil, Juvenile, Criminal, and Family Courts.
With everything that is happening around us, Dr. Weaver realizes that many patients prefer remote face-to-face contact options.
